$45,000 Leadership Gift
Supporting Scholarships for Hawkesbury Students at Western Sydney University
Hawkesbury City Council is proud to support Western Sydney University’s Scholarships program, and we congratulate staff, students and supporters on taking part this Giving Day!
Hawkesbury City Council is the largest local government area in the Sydney metropolitan region, covering approximately 2,800 square kilometres. The area is located at the north-western edge of Sydney, with a backdrop of the Greater Blue Mountains.
Hawkesbury City Council is committed to promoting and supporting the educational aspirations of the region. We have been supporting scholarships at Western Sydney University since 1992. With this gift, Council aims to encourage local young people to pursue further studies at their local University - the Hawkesbury campus – and to encourage enthusiastic participation in the Hawkesbury community.
Hawkesbury City Council’s contribution to Western Sydney University over the next four years will total $45,000, and Council looks forward to continuing this ongoing sponsorship. Hawkesbury City Council’s contribution to-date has been $282,400 and a total of 27 students at Western Sydney University have benefited from the scholarship program.
The ongoing scholarship program will provide an opportunity for the students to enhance their skills and to achieve their educational and career goals without the additional financial pressures.
